Preparing the BMC Atrium SSO server for integration

The Administrator on the BMC Atrium SSO side handles the security procedures in the customer environment. This topic provides a high-level description of what procedures the Administrator has to perform to set up and configure BMC Atrium Single Sign-On with the BMC Application Performance Management Console.

To prepare the BMC Atrium SSO server for integration

The Administrator on the BMC Atrium SSO side is not the Administrator role in the BMC Real End User Experience Monitoring.

  1. Install BMC Atrium Single Sign-On. For more information, see Installing BMC Atrium SSO.
  2. Create groups in the Atrium SSO Admin Console.
Each group must have a name in the following format: APM_*, where an asterisk (*) is a name of the user role. For BMC Application Performance Management Console, you create the following groups: APM_Security, APM_AdministratorAPM_Operator, and APM_Observer.
  3. Assign users to the groups that you have created according to the roles of users in the BMC Application Performance Management Console. User names on the BMC Atrium SSO server must be identical to user names on the BMC Application Performance Management Console, otherwise the users cannot access configurations, dashlets, dashboards, and other user specific features.

After the BMC Atrium SSO server is ready for integration, the Administrator or Security roles proceed with preparing the Console component for integration.
