Step 4 – Configuring a data disk


For each instance of a Real User Analyzer, you must configure a disk to store traffic data.

As shown in the following figure, you can choose to use the default disk, which can accommodate a small volume of traffic data. This configuration is adequate for a proof-of-concept deployment.

However, in a production environment, Analyzer instances require more storage. To get this extra capacity, add a second volume (which can be between 100 GB and 570 GB) by using your hypervisor management tool. If you create the disk before installing the Analyzer instance, the setup wizard detects its presence.

If not, you must stop the installation process and then add the volume. When you resume the process, the setup wizard detects the presence of the disk, as shown in the following figure.

Choose this disk. The system prompts you to acknowledge that all data will be deleted.

Warning

Any data already stored on the disk will be deleted.

Recommendation

If you change the size of a pre-existing disk, do so before you switch on the power of the virtual machine.

 

Tip: For faster searching, add an asterisk to the end of your partial query. Example: cert*
