Step 3 – Creating an initial account


On step 3 of the configuration wizard, you must set a username and password for the initial user of the system, as shown in the following figure.

The initial account has Security-level access. This means that the user logging on with these credentials can access all functionality, including security features, which are invisible to non-Security-level users. Security-level users are usually responsible for handling cryptographic keys, confidential data, and other similar items, and can add other Security-level accounts to the system.

Recommendation

After setting up the BMC Real End User Experience Monitoring system, it is important to create different accounts for different users of the system. Access management is based on roles (in other words, on different subsets of permissions), so you can restrict certain areas of functionality to certain users.

You create accounts via the main interface of the product — not as part of component setup.

Only the Administrator role is defined for the BMC Real End User Experience Monitoring Aggregation Server for Extended Reporting component.
