Logging on for the first time

BMC recommends that you complete the following activities after installing the product:

  • Log on using the BMC Application Performance Management Console — The required logon credentials are set when the Console component is installed.
  • Accept the EULA — The first time that someone in your organization logs on to the Console, the BMC End User License Agreement (EULA) is displayed. After the EULA is accepted, it is valid during the whole life cycle of a component instance.
  • Change your password — A Security user password is created when the Console component is installed. BMC recommends that you change the password during your first Console session.
  • Create at least one Administrator account (optional) — For everyday management of the system, BMC recommends that you create at least one Administrator account. The Administrator role can access all features, except those related to security.
  • Protect sensitive information (optional) — As a user with the Security role, you can control how the system handles sensitive information. You can upload keys for deciphering encrypted traffic, decide how to protect end users' private data, enhance access security, and perform other security-related activities.
