Connecting Oracle to SAP BusinessObjects


Perform the following steps to connect the Oracle database to SAP BusinessObjects.

  1. From the Microsoft Windows Start menu, select Start > All Programs > SAP BusinessObjects BI platform 4 > SAP BusinessObjects BI platform client > Information Design Tool.
  2. In the Repository Resources left-hand pane, click Insert Session.
  3. In the Open session dialog box, enter the following information and click OK.
    • System: IP address of the SAP BusinessObjects server
    • User Name: Administrator
    • Password: Administrator Password
    • Authentication: Select Enterprise.
      The session host name is added to the tree in the Repository Resources pane.
  4. Expand the session host name in the Repository Resources pane, expand EUEM, and click ERDW1.

  5. In the General Information tab for ERDW1, click Edit.
  6. In the Edit Relational Connection dialog box, enter the following information.
    • Authentication Mode: Select Use specified username and pasword.
    • User Name: biuser
    • Password: Password
    • Service: Select erdw1.
      The session host name is added to the tree in the Repository Resources pane.
  7. Click Test Connection.
  8. After the connection is verified, click Close and then Finish.
