Updating the TEA Agent


You can update the BMC Synthetic Transaction Execution Adapter (TEA) Agent configuration settings that were defined during installation, such as changing passwords or the associated Agent Group. You cannot change the installation directory or the TEA Agent name.

To update the TEA Agent with the installation wizard

  1. Log on to the host computer where you the TEA Agent is installed as a user with administrator privileges and run the setup.exe file.
  2. On the welcome page of the product installer, click Next.
  3. Change the values according to your needs. For a description of the parameters, see Performing-the-TEA-Agent-installation.
  4. Review the details in the Installation Preview page and click Install.
    Update begins. A progress bar indicates the percentage of the update that has completed.
  5. On the Installation Summary page, click View Log to examine the installation log, then click Done to exit the installation utility.

To update the TEA Agent silently

Error
Warning

Do not change the installLocation and tea_service_name parameters. Changing the parameter causes the installation process to run, instead of the update process. The system cannot recognize multiple TEA Agents on the same computer and the Agents will not perform as expected.
