Assigning data providers

To stream data to the Performance Analytics Engine, you must assign one or more Real User Analyzer instances that will act as data providers.

To assign data providers

  1. In the BMC Application Performance Management Console, point to System Deployment > Performance Analysis, and click Server Management.
    This page lists the available Performance Analytics Engine servers.
  2. Click the action button (action-button.png) for a Performance Analytics Engine instance and select Edit Data Provider.
     The Edit Data Provider form appears.
  3. Select one or more Real User Analyzer instances to assign to the Performance Analytics Engine.
  4. Click Save.
    Data providers are assigned to the Performance Analytics Engine instance.

Note

When selecting data providers, consider the information in the Planning section about resource requirements, traffic volume, and the maximum recommended number of Analyzer instances per Performance Analytics Engine instance. Assigning all data providers to the same instance can slow down the process of saving data to the storage location.

To cancel all running queries

As the Administrator, you can cancel all Performance Analytics queries that are running at the moment (by different users).

To do this, on the Action menu, click Cancel All Queries.

 

Tip: For faster searching, add an asterisk to the end of your partial query. Example: cert*
