Accessing the interface

The preferred access point is the BMC Application Performance Management Console. The Real User Analyzer and Real User Collector components also have web-based interfaces, but to access them, use links in the Console interface to drill down.

Warning

The separate Real User Analyzer and Real User Collector interfaces contain controls that are useful only if you access these components directly. If you use these components after drilling down from the Console, the configuration changes that you expect will not be present. Your changes will produce no results when drilling down from the Console.

Recommendations
  • Always access the system via the Console interface.
  • When you have drilled down to the interfaces of other components, do not use controls that are applicable only to direct access to these components.

Before you begin

You must have already configured the system so that all users can access it.

The Collector and Analyzer components must be connected to the Console.

To access the user interface

  1. Enter the IP address to access your system (for example, 192.0.2.10).

BMC recommends that you add this IP address to your browser's bookmarks so that you do not have to remember it.
