Note

It is important to have the date and time settings of all component instances synchronized. For some component types (

To add an Analyzer component on the Console

To add a component to the system, you must know the IP address and the Security account credentials for the component.

  1. On the Console, click the Administration tab.
  2. On the menu, click Component Management > Configuration.
  3. On the Action menu, click Add Component.
  4. In IP/DNS Name, type the IP address of the Analyzer component, for example 10.160.1.63.
  5. In the Port box, accept the default value of 443.
  6. In User Name, type you user name.
  7. In Password, type your password.
  8. Click Save.

Result

The component is now added to the Configuration page. While the Console is trying to establish a connection to the component, the Status displays UNKNOWN. After a connection is established, the Status changes to OK. If the Status displays ERROR, the component was not added correctly.

After connecting the components to each other and adding them to the Console, the system can pull traffic data into the configured Watchpoints.
