Adding components to the Console

To access captured and analyzed data on the

, you must add at least one instance to the Console instance. To use functionality, you must add at least one instance of this component, too. And, to make drilldowns to a instance possible, you must add it to the Console.

Before you begin

If you want to use the DNS hostname of your component instances (rather than the IP address), you must set DNS parameters on the Console before adding components to it.

To add a component instance to the Console

1. On the menu of the Administration page of the Console, click Component Management > Configuration.
2. On the Action menu, click Add Component.
3. In IP/DNS Name, type 10.160.1.63.
4. Accept the default value of 443 in Port.
5. In User Name, type ITSec.
6. In Password, type mypa$$w0rd.
7. Click Save.

The instance is now added to the Console. It can be observed at the Configuration page.
