Editing Akamai instrumentation settings


For the system to accurately measure and report page-render time, you must indicate whether Akamai instruments pages for your web applications, by configuring Akamai instrumentation settings.

Pages instrumented by Akamai can experience some delays that pages served by your origin server or another external service do not. To maintain accuracy, the system uses a different algorithm to calculate page-render time for pages instrumented by Akamai.

Before you begin

  • The page-render beacon must be configured and switched on.
  • The macro unmigrated-inline-wiki-markup from Confluence is no longer available.

To edit Akamai instrumentation settings

  1. In the

    , point to Administration > Data flow settings, and click Web beacons.
  2. On the Action menu for Akamai instrumentation, click Edit.
  3. Take the appropriate one of the following actions:
    • If none of your web applications is instrumented by Akamai, click No Applications.
    • If Akamai instruments pages for all your web applications, click All applications.
    • If Akamai instruments pages for some of your web applications, click Some and specify the applications with a filter expression.
      For example:
       (custom_application_name is "extras.app1.com") OR (custom_application_name is "10.162.2.39:8080")
  4. Click Save.
