Verifying the initial configuration


Verify the initial configuration by setting up a dashlet to show whether the system is capturing traffic. This operation has the following steps:

  1. Add a Watchpoint for which there is likely to be traffic.
  2. Create a dashboard on the Console.
  3. On this dashboard, add a dashlet that uses the Watchpoint you added in step 1.
  4. Verify that the dashlet displays the traffic

To set up the dashlet

    , add a Watchpoint for which there is likely to be traffic.

    For example, if the United States has a significant number of users, use the following filter expression:

    first_public_geo.country is "US"
  2. On the Console, add a dashboard.
  3. On this dashboard, add a dashlet with the following settings:
    • Dashlet type: Traffic gauge
    • Watchpoint (created in step 1): first_public_geo.country is "US"
    • Metrics: pages per second
    • Period: last 30 minutes
  4. Verify that the dashlet displays the traffic

Result

Now you have one dashlet on a dashboard, displaying some traffic data, as shown in the following figure:
