Version 2.0.00

This section contains information about the enhancements and new features in version 2.0.00 of the BMC Real End User Experience Monitoring and Analytics product.

Session timelines

A visually intuitive representation of an end user’s session including milestones and rich drill-down capabilities is now incorporated into the BMC Real End User Experience Monitoring problem investigation workflow.

The session timeline displays a single user’s session and summarizes all the errors and performance issues the user experienced. This graphical element completes the workflow from high-level dashboards, analysis and deep problem investigation in a simple and intuitive interface. It leverages the Performance Analytics Engine’s data storage, thereby increasing the availability of detailed session data well beyond what was previously possible.

Watchpoint configuration

Watchpoints can now be configured and managed for multiple Analyzers directly in the BMC Application Performance Management Console. The Watchpoint configuration workflow has been simplified to make it more intuitive and quicker to use.

Watchpoint configuration is made easier via an auto discovery process that recommends application Watchpoints based on observed uncategorized traffic.

Additionally, Watchpoints can now be grouped into a hierarchy, organized by application. Additional Watchpoints can then be created as subordinate Watchpoints to provide fine-grained details about an application, such as a logon page or a search page.

Centralized system updates

The BMC Application Performance Management Console now provides a centralized update capability to manage and deploy new software versions and patches for all components, such as Analyzers, Collectors, and the Performance Analytics Engine. The update wizard allows you to check for any available update and automates the process of downloading and installing them across all components.

For more information, see Updating-the-system-using-the-Console.

Integration with BMC Atrium Single Sign-On (SSO)

BMC Atrium Single Sign-On (SSO) is an authentication system that provides single sign-on and single sign-off for users of the BMC Application Performance Management Console.

With BMC Atrium Single Sign-On, users present credentials only once for authentication and subsequently are automatically authenticated by every BMC product that is integrated into the system.

For more information, see  Integrating with Atrium Single Sign-On (SSO).

BMC Real End User Experience Monitoring Extended Reporting

BMC Real End User Experience Monitoring Extended Reporting is an optional component that provides additional analysis capabilities and reporting derived from BMC Real End User Experience Monitoring performance metricsWith Extended Reporting, a Web operations owner can deliver reports designed to address the needs of business owners or other technical stakeholders in the organization.

For more information, see Extend-performance-reporting-and-analysis.

Real User Monitor

The Real User Monitor component combines the Real User Analyzer and Real User Collector components on the same virtual machine. A deployment that requires only a single Analyzer and a single Collector can alternately deploy the Real User Monitor, which reduces the number of virtual machines required to one.

SSL Key Management API

This new API allows remote configuration and update for SSL keys that are used by BMC Real End User Experience Monitoring to decrypt secure HTTP requests. This API enables third-party Enterprise Key and Certificate Management (EKCM) vendors to develop integration packs for BMC Real End User Experience Monitoring, allowing them to directly manage and update its keys.

For more information, see SSL-Key-Management-API.

Improved menu navigation

The BMC Application Performance Management Console's menu structure has been reorganized to make navigation more intuitive by organizing the console into three main categories: Application Monitoring, System Deployment, and System Access
