Accessing the interface

The BMC Application Performance Management Console (Console) is the preferred point for accessing the plug-in components that it contains. Examples of plugin components include BMC Real End User Experience Monitoring and BMC Application Diagnostics.

Although you can access the Real User Analyzer and Real User Collector components from their web-based interfaces, BMC recommends that you use the links on the Console interface to access them.

Warning

The separate Real User Analyzer and Real User Collector interfaces contain controls that are useful only if you access these components directly. If you use these components after drilling down from the Console, the configuration changes that you expect, will not be present. Your changes will produce no results when drilling down from the Console.

Recommendations
  • Always access the system components from the Console interface.
  • When you have drilled down to the interfaces of other components, do not to use controls that are applicable only to direct access to these components.

Before you begin

The system must be configured so that all users can access it.

The Collector and Analyzer components must be connected to the Console.

To access the user interface

  1. In the address bar of your browser, enter the IP address to access your system (for example, 192.0.2.10)
