Preparing the Console component for the BMC Atrium SSO integration
After the Administrator on the BMC Atrium SSO side installs and configures the BMC Atrium SSO server, the Administrator or Security roles on the
side, performs the following procedures to configure the Console component:To configure the network identity settings
To integrate with BMC Atrium SSO, the BMC Application Performance Management Console must be accessible from other devices in the network as well as the Atrium SSO Server. This can be achieved by configuring network identity.
- In the BMC Application Performance Management Console interface, go to System Deployment.
- In the Action menu for the Network identity section, select Edit Network Identity.
- In the Device Host Name box, enter the fully qualified domain name (FQDN) for the device.
- In the Preferred DNS Server IP box, enter the IP address of the DNS server that you want to use.
- (Optional) In the Alternate DNS Server IP box, enter the IP address of the alternative DNS server for the system to use.
- In the Domain Name Suffix box, enter the name suffix for your network appliances (for example, example.com).
- Click Save.
To configure Atrium SSO settings
- In the BMC Application Performance Management Console interface, go to System Access > Atrium SSO Settings.
- In the Action menu, select Edit Atrium SSO Server Settings.
- In the Atrium SSO Server Host Name box, enter the fully qualified domain name (FQDN) of the Atrium SSO server.
- In the Port box, enter the number of the port. The default port is 8443.
- In the Atrium SSO Server Administrator User Name box, enter the name for the Administrator user for the Atrium SSO server.
- In the Password box, enter the password for the Administrator user for the Atrium SSO server.
- (Optional) Click Test Server to check whether the settings are correct and validate connection to the server.
- Click Save.
After you have configured the Atrium SSO settings, proceed with enabling the integration.
To enable the integration with the Atrium SSO
- In the BMC Application Performance Management Console interface, go to System Access > Atrium SSO Settings.
- Click the switch for Atrium Single Sign-On (SSO).
The confirmation message appears. Click OK to proceed. - Log out from the Console interface.
Now you can log onto the BMC Application Performance Management Console with your BMC Atrium SSO user credentials.
After integration with BMC Atrium SSO is enabled, only users defined in the BMC Atrium SSO server can log onto the Console component.
