Tenant user roles and permissions

The user roles for tenant accounts differ from the system roles.

The system assigns sets of user permissions to roles. Each user account must have a role, which defines the level of access that a user has to the features in the system. For example, Administrators can create accounts, but Observers cannot.

The sets of tenant user roles and their permissions are described in the following table.

The user with the Access Manager role can assign one of the following roles to other tenant users:

  • Access Manager — Performs user management for the tenant account, including creation, editing, and deletion of Access Manager accounts.

    Warning

Be careful when you create multiple Access Manager accounts — all Access Managers have equal rights.

  • Application Owner — Configures Watchpoints and dashboards for the tenant account, runs Performance Analytics Engine queries.
  • Observer — Can perform the same tasks as Application Owner, except configuring Watchpoints.
