Adding consumers

When you add a consumer, you also set service-level thresholds that the client organization uses to evaluate your application performance.

To uniquely identify traffic from each client organization to your SaaS application, the system uses a token extracted from your web traffic. You specify the token when you set up the consumer.

Before you begin

  • You must be logged on as a user with security-level access.
  • You must have an analyzer attached to the Console, and you must know the IP address of the Real User Collectors that will collect traffic data for the consumer account.
  • On the collector, you must have added an extraction rule for the Tenant Key.
  • You must turn on Configuration APIs for any Real User Analyzers that store traffic data from the customer for which you want to create a consumer.

To add a consumer

  1. On the Console, select System Access > Accounts, and create a user with Consumer access:
  2. On the System Access tab of the Console, select Consumer Management, and create a consumer:
    1. From the Action menu, select Add Consumer.
    2. From the User Name menu, select the user that you created in step 1.
    3. From Data Supplier, select the analyzer.
    4. In Traffic Key, type the tenant key that you added for this consumer.
    5. Under Thresholds, specify the thresholds for the data source, and click Save.
