Remote logging
BMC Real End User Experience Monitoring is a remote logging (syslog) enabled device. It can send logging messages to log collection systems.
Logging levels
When you configure remote logging, you can choose the severity level of the logging messages your want the device to send.
Logging levels (in descending severity)

For the system to send logging messages to a log collection system, you configure remote logging. For this you must perform the following procedures:
- Specify the severity level of the logging messages that your want the device to send
- Specify the IP address of the server that you want to send logging messages to
- Enable the sending of log messages
For example, you want to configure the system so that it can send messages to your syslog server at IP address 192.0.2.160. You only want the device to send messages whose severity is Warning or worse.
To configure remote logging on the Console
- In the BMC Application Performance Management Console interface, click System Deployment.
- From the shortcut menu in the Integration section, select Edit Remote Logging Settings.
- In the Level list, click Warning.
- In the IP/DNS Name box, type 192.0.2.160.
- Click Save.
The device begins sending logging messages to your syslog server.
To configure remote logging on the Analyzer or the Collector
- In the Real User Analyzer or Real User Collector interface, go to Administration > Integration, and click Remote logging (syslog).
- From the Action menu, select Edit.
- In the Level list, click Warning.
- In the Remote recipient box, type 192.0.2.160.
- Click Save.
The device begins sending logging messages to your syslog server.
To enable sending the log messages on the Console
- In the BMC Application Performance Management Console interface, click System Deployment.
- In the Integration section, click the Remote Logging (syslog) switch.
To disable transmission of logging messages, click the switch again.
To enable sending the log messages on the Analyzer and Collector
- In the Analyzer or Collector component, go to Administration > Integration, and click Remote logging (syslog).
- Click ON.
