Specifying DNS servers
The device's network identity settings include host name and virtual IP address that you configure.
You can define an alternate or "virtual" address for the device to use when sending information about itself to recipients (for example, in report mail-outs). Use this function if the IP address of the management port of the device is "hidden" behind a virtual host name or a NAT device.
In the
component, point to Administration > Integration, and then click Network identity.- On the Action menu for the DNS section, click Edit.
- In the Preferred DNS server box, enter the IP address of the DNS server that you want to use (for example, 192.0.2.220).
- (Optional) In the Alternate DNS server box, enter the IP address of the alternative DNS server for the system to use.
- Click OK.
The system updates your DNS server settings. Now specify the domain name suffix for the device.
