Network identity (DNS)


To interoperate with external network appliances that use host names instead of IP addresses, such as time servers, SMTP servers, or SNMP servers, you must set up a domain name system (DNS) client for the device.

When you configure DNS settings, ensure that host names do not contain underscore (_) characters, because the system refers to such host names as IP addresses.
