Network Connection Configuration dialog box


Use this dialog box to specify selection criteria for TCP/IP connections.

This dialog box is applicable to PATROL console only.

Configuration details

To access this dialog box, right-click the Connection node and select KM Commands > Configure Connections. This dialog box contains the following items:

Add

Click to open the network connection configuration dialog box. Use this dialog box to specify selection criteria for TCP/IP connections.

Modify

Select a configured network connection and click Modify to edit the configuration details.

Remove

Select a configured network connection and click Remove to delete the configuration details.

Apply

Click to apply the configuration.

Close

Click to close the dialog box.

Network Connection Configuration details

Item

Description

Connection ID

Enter the name of the instance.

Remote IP Address Range

The range of the remote IP address of the connections that you want to monitor with this connection ID. If only a single value is entered, then only connections coming from that specified remote address will be selected.

Lower

Enter the lowest remote IP address to include for this connection ID.

Upper

Enter the highest remote IP address to include for this connection ID.

Local Port Range

The range for the local ports of the connection. If only a single value is entered, then only connections using the specified local port will be selected.

Lower

Enter the lower range for the local port to include for this connection ID.

Upper

Enter the upper range for the local port to include for this connection ID.

Connection Type

Indicates the type of connection being monitored by this connection ID.

  • *ALL- Monitor connections of all types
  • *TCP - Monitor a transmission control protocol connection or listening socket
  • *UDP - Monitor a User Datagram Protocol socket
  • *IPI - Monitor an Internet Protocol over Internetwork Packet Exchange connection or socket
  • *IPS - Monitor an Internet Protocol over SNA connection or socket

Apply

Click to apply the configuration.

Close

Click to close the dialog box.
