History Log Configuration dialog box


Use this dialog box to configure History Logs and their search criteria on a given host.

This dialog box is applicable to PATROL console only.

To access this dialog box, right-click the QHST node and select KM Commands > Configure History LogThis dialog box contains the following items:

Description

Monitor abnormally ended jobs

Select this option to enable monitoring of abnormally ended jobs. Select one of the following options to include or exclude the abnormally ended jobs from monitoring.

Include all abnormally ended jobs 

Select to collect information on all jobs ending abnormally on the system. By default, all the abnormally ended jobs are included for monitoring. If you select this option, add the job name and user name details in the Critical Jobs List Configuration dialog box.

Exclude specified jobs

Select to exclude certain jobs from consideration when collecting abnormally ended job information. The excluded jobs are indicated when you specify their Job Name and User Name in Exclude Jobs List Configuration. If you select this option, add the job name and user name details in the Exclude Jobs List Configuration dialog box.

End code threshold

Enter the end code threshold. All jobs that end with an end code equal to or greater than this threshold are considered to have ended abnormally.

Monitor system value changes

Select this checkbox to enable monitoring of system value changes.

Enable report

Select this check box to enable history log report. Selecting this option enables data collection for following History Log agent actions:

  • List System Value Changes - Displays all the system value change messages that have been saved. It stores the system value change messages up to 30 days.
  • List Critical Abended Jobs - Displays the messages of critical jobs that ended abnormally and have been saved. It stores the messages up to 7 days. Critical jobs are those job name and user ID combinations that you specify as critical.
  • List Abnormally Ended Jobs - Displays all the abnormally ended job messages that have been saved. It stores messages up to 7 days.


Apply

Click to apply the configuration.

Close

Click to close the dialog box.

Critical Jobs List Configuration dialog box 

To access this dialog box, right-click the QHST node and select KM Commands > Configure History Log. Select the Include all abnormally ended jobs option. 

 Add Job name and User name combinations that will cause an alert if the jobs end abnormally.

Job name

Enter the the job name to add from the list of job names that will cause an alert if they end abnormally. Input may also be a regular expression pattern.

User name

Enter the the user name to add from the list of user names that will cause an alert if they end abnormally. Input may also be a regular expression pattern.

Add

Click to add the job name and user name combination to the list of jobs.

Remove

Select a job and click to remove the job from the list of jobs.

Apply

Click to save the configuration.

Cancel

Click to close the configuration window.

Exclude Jobs List Configuration dialog box 

To access this dialog box, right-click the QHST node and select KM Commands > Configure History Log. Select the Exclude specified jobs option. 

Add Job name and user name combinations to exclude certain jobs from consideration when collecting abnormally ended job information.

Enter the Job name to exclude from consideration when processing abnormally ended jobs information. Input may also be a regular expression pattern.

User name

Enter the user name to exclude from consideration when processing abnormally ended job information. Input may also be a regular expression pattern.

Add

Click to add the job name and user name combination to the list of jobs.

Remove

Select a job and click to remove the job from the list of jobs.

Apply

Click to save the configuration.

Cancel

Click to close the configuration window.

 

Tip: For faster searching, add an asterisk to the end of your partial query. Example: cert*
