System requirements

This topic lists the minimum requirements and supported resources for the BMC PATROL for Web Services Monitoring product.

Tip

References to x86-64 include AMD64 (which includes Opteron) and Intel 64 architecture (formerly known as Intel Extended Memory 64 Technology, or Intel EM64T).

On a Solaris 8 platform, manually install BMC PATROL for Web Services Monitoring by using Installation Utility version 7.5.60 or earlier. Do not use BMC ProactiveNet Central Monitoring Administration to install the KM on Solaris 8, as it uses Installation Utility version 7.5.62.

Disk space

Verify that you have at least 300 Megabytes of free disk space on the server that you intend to install BMC PATROL for Web Services Monitoring.

Browser

This product uses PATROL Installation Utility 9.6.00, which requires a browser. For a list of supported browsers, see the PATROL Installation Utility online documentation.

License

You must have a valid demonstration license (typically good for 30 days) or a permanent license to run your PATROL products.If you do not have a permanent license to run your PATROL products, contact your BMC Software sales representative or the BMC Software Contract Administration department.
