Web Services KM menu commands

When an application class is loaded, its associated application menu commands are added to the KM area of a application menu. (Not all PATROL KM application classes have menu commands.) The menu commands appear as a sub-menu both the KM Commands menus for Windows and Unix and the Knowledge Module Command menus for the PATROL Central Operator consoles.

This topic describes the BMC PATROL for Web Services Monitoring application menus only. For descriptions of console menu commands, see the appropriate PATROL user guide for your console. The online Help provides further information about the menu commands.

INET_Websvc_Top application class menu

The INET_Websvc_Top application menu contains the following commands:

Menu
Command

Action

Configure Web Services

Launches the default web browser on the console computer and connects to a configuration web application running
on the agent computer. This application provides a web based interface for selecting and configuring Web services to be monitored.

Set Java Home

Opens a dialog box that enables you to edit or change the path to the Java Runtime Environment (JRE). By default,
BMC PATROL for Web Services Monitoring automatically discovers the Java home that is configured in the environment variable. You can now change this value.

INET_Websvc_Inst application class menu

The INET_Websvc_Inst application menu contains the following commands:

Menu
Command

Action

Debug

Administers the debug settings for an instance. This command is designed to help resolve scripting problems by adjusting the value of Psl Debug for PSL scripts. Debug text is sent to the PATROL Agent output window on a Console computer. For more information, see the PATROL PSL Reference Guide.

Resume Monitoring

Resumes monitoring of an OFFLINE instance after a Stop Monitoring command was issued. The instance goes ONLINE and active monitoring is resumed.

Stop Monitoring

Stops monitoring an ONLINE instance and allows you to select whether to retain or delete the configuration. If you retain the configuration, the instance goes OFFLINE and active monitoring is suspended. Monitoring can then be continued by using the Resume Monitoring command. If you delete the configuration, the instance and all of its configuration information are deleted and the Resume Monitoring command cannot later be used to restore settings.

INET_Websvc_Operation application class menu

The INET_Websvc_Operation application menu contains the following commands:

Menu
Command

Action

Content Check

Allows you to define content check options for the instance. You can use this to verify the Web service response content.

Delete

Allows you to delete the operation from monitoring.
