Configuring after installation or upgrade

After you install BMC PATROL for VMware vSphere, you must load the Knowledge Module (KM) into the BMC PATROL Console and configure the product so that it can obtain parameter data from the VMware vSphere.

Before you begin

Before configuring BMC PATROL for VMware vSphere, verify that the following software requirements are met:

• The PATROL console and PATROL for VMware vSphere are installed on the computer that you want to use for the PATROL console.
• The PATROL Agent and PATROL for VMware vSphere are installed on the computer that you want to use to monitor your VMware vSphere environment.
• If you are using PATROL Central Operator - Microsoft Windows Edition, PATROL for VMware vSphere is installed on the PATROL Console Server.
• If you are using PATROL Central Operator - Web Edition, PATROL for VMware vSphere is installed on the PATROL Console Server and PATROL Web Server.
