This task describes how to move either a single print job or all print jobs from one printer to another printer.

Before You Begin

  • You must be root to run this command.
  • This task will not allow you to move print jobs with special options to a destination printer that cannot handle those options.

  2. Select Move Job to Another PrinterPATROL prompts you for the password for the root account.
  3. Type the root password and click OK. PATROL displays the Move Job to Another Printer dialog box.
  4. Type the printer job ID in the Enter Job ID field. For information on how to view a list of all print jobs and their job IDs, see Listing-print-jobs.
  5. Type the printer to which you want to move the job in the Enter New Destination field and click OK

PATROL cancels the print jobs assigned to that printer, reassigns them to the designated printer, and writes the results to a PATROL task object, Move Job to Another Printer, in the PRINTER container.
