UNIX to UNIX Communication Protocol (UUCP)
UNIX to UNIX Communication Protocol (UUCP) is a UNIX utility that copies a file from one computer to another. Unlike TCP/IP, which is a routable communications protocol, UUCP provides a point-to-point transmission where a user at one UNIX computer dials up and establishes a session with another UNIX computer.
UUCP can be used to send e-mail using a bang path, which specifies the entire route to the destination computer and uses exclamation points ⚠️, also known as bangs, as delimiters. The bang path format is generally: host_n!host_2!host_1!user_account.
