Guidelines

Announcement Support for this product will end on November 3, 2025. We recommend that you use PATROL for Linux, PATROL for AIX, or PATROL for Solaris to monitor operating systems.

Monitoring System and Application WPARs

The product allows you to monitor the configuration and statistics of all the workload partitions on the system, including System and Application WPARs. You can monitor WPARs from the global environment. The product discovers WPARs and creates the discovered WPAR instances under the AIX_VIRTUALIZATION application class container.

Each instance monitors a set of parameters. The parameters that are not relevant to the instance are deactivated from monitoring. WPAR instances are destroyed if you remove a WPAR from the system.

Note

To monitor WPARs, you must install PATROL Knowledge module for UNIX in the AIX global environment.
