Information
Announcement Support for this product will end on November 3, 2025. We recommend that you use PATROL for Linux, PATROL for AIX, or PATROL for Solaris to monitor operating systems.

Viewing Kernel System Usage

This task describes how to view information about the kernel slot usage (for files, locks, and processes), total number of system calls, directory block reads per second, and message operations performed per second.

To View the Kernel System Statistics

  1. Access the KERNEL application class so that you can view its parameters.
  2. Open the parameter that records the type of kernel system information that you want to view:

BMC PATROL displays a graph that shows the requested information over time.

Warning

Note

The Kernel statistics reported for the Solaris zones (global or non-global) are for the whole system (including the global and all non-global zones on the system), with the exception of the KERProcUsedPercent parameter. This parameter displays the information for the respective zone, and not for the whole system.
