Activating an Inactive Collector Parameter

This task describes how to turn on a collector parameter. It is necessary because some application classes are installed in an inactive state. To collect data for those application classes, you must activate the application class and its corresponding collector parameters.

Before you begin

You must activate the application class and collector parameter. For information about how to activate an application class, see Activating an Inactive Application Class.

To Start a Collector Parameter

  1. Access the application class properties as described in Accessing KM Commands and InfoBoxes.
  2. Check the Active check box.
  3. Click OK.

BMC PATROL closes the dialog box, runs discovery for this parameter, and gathers the associated data.
