Debugging NFS Data Collection (NFSColl)

This task describes how to turn the debugging feature on and off for the NFSColl parameter, which gathers information for the NFS (network file system) application class.

Before you begin

This debug command provides the following information for the network file system.

  1. Call information for
    • server rpc: connectionless and connection-oriented
    • server nfs: versions 2 and 3
    • server nfs_acl: versions 2 and 3
    • client rpc: connectionless and connection-oriented
    • server nfs_acl: version 2 and 3
  2. Values of the last nfs_stat command
  3. Cross-reference list between filesystems
  4. Delta data
  5. Values of the current nfs_stat command

To Turn Debugging On/Off for NFSColl

  1. Access the UNIX OS application menu as described in Accessing KM Commands and InfoBoxes.
  2. Select Debug and Diagnostics > Toggle NFSColl Debug.
Depending upon the collector's current debug state, BMC PATROL writes one of the following messages to the system output window. TRUE means that debug is turned on. FALSE means that debug is turned off.

CCYY0621151414 NFSColl debug set to TRUE
CCYY0621151414 NFSColl debug set to FALSE

When the debug feature is turned on, BMC PATROL writes the debug information to the system output window when the collector runs.
