Total swap space of project (PROJSwapTotal)

This parameter reports the total swap space used by all the member processes of the respective project.

The swap device is a secondary memory storage device and supplements the physical memory available on the system. When the processes start consuming a lot of the physical memory and the system starts running short of physical memory, the infrequently used memory pages are removed to the secondary memory device, the swap device. This activity is known as paging.

Like physical memory, the swap storage is shared among all the projects from all zones on the system and hence it is important to find out how much of the swap space is currently being used by the respective project.
Once your system is out of swap space, it cannot start any new processes, and running processes cannot spawn new processes.
