Announcement Support for this product will end on November 3, 2025. We recommend that you use PATROL for Linux, PATROL for AIX, or PATROL for Solaris to monitor operating systems.

Filesystem (Unix Storage)


This topic provides information about configuring the filesystems by using Central Monitoring Administration.

On the Add Monitor Types dialog, with the Monitoring Profile set to Unix Storage, and the Monitor Type set to Filesystem, provide the following details:

Filesystem Inclusion/Exclusion

Filesystem Include/Exclude Operation

Host name

Specify the host name to filter the filesystems.

Exclude Filesystem

Specify the filesystem name to exclude. Enter regular expression to exclude multiple filesystems. Multiple regular expressions can be given by using a comma separator.

To exclude Docker filesystems, you can use a regular expression. For example, /var/lib/docker.*,/var/lib/kubelet.*,/run/docker/netns.*,/run/docker/runtime.*,/app/docker.*,/var/lib/origin/openshift.*

Include Filesystem

Specify the filesystem name to include. Enter regular expression to include multiple filesystems. Multiple regular expressions can be given by using a comma separator.

Filesystem Exclusion on basis of type

Ignore NFS Filesystems

Select this checkbox to remove NFS filesystem instances.

Ignore CDFS Filesystems

Select this checkbox to remove CDFS filesystem instances.

Ignore PROC Filesystems

Select this checkbox to remove PROC filesystem instances.

Ignore Custom Filesystems

Select this checkbox to remove Custom type filesystem instances.

Custom Filesystem type to ignore

Specify custom filesystem type to remove. Multiple filesystems can be entered by using a space.

To exclude a docker filesystem, you can also specify a filesystem type. For example, OVERLAY.

Destroy Unmounted Filesystem on basis of Type

Ignore Persistance for NFS Filesystems instances

Select this checkbox to destroy existing unmounted NFS filesystem instances.

Ignore Persistance for CDFS Filesystem instances

Select this checkbox to destroy existing unmounted CDFS filesystem instances.

Ignore Persistance for PROC Filesystem instances

Select this checkbox to destroy existing unmounted PROC filesystem instances.

Ignore Persistance for Custom Filesystem instances

Select this checkbox to destroy existing unmounted Custom filesystem instances.

Ignore Persistance for Custom Filesystem

Specify custom filesystem type to destroy unmounted filesystem. Multiple filesystems can be entered by using a space.

Add to List

To add the configured filesystem operation to the list of Filesystem Inclusion/Exclusion operations, click the button.

Modify Selection

To modify the configured filesystem operation to the list of Filesystem Inclusion/Exclusion operations, click the button.

Remove from List

To remove the configured filesystem operation from the list of Filesystem Inclusion/Exclusion operations, click the button.

Add

Click this option to add this monitoring configuration. This information is displayed on the Monitor Configuration page.

After you click this option, you can continue to add more objects for monitoring.

Reset

Click this option to clear off your configuration details and revert to default settings.

Close

Click this option to exit without saving any changes.
