Provide an announcement banner on every page of your space.

Move this page outside of your home branch.

Guidelines

Announcement Support for this product will end on November 3, 2025. We recommend that you use PATROL for Linux, PATROL for AIX, or PATROL for Solaris to monitor operating systems.

Network (UNIX Default)


This topic provides information about configuring the networks by using Central Monitoring Administration.

On the Add Monitor Types dialog, with the Monitoring Profile set to UNIX Default, and the Monitor Type set to Network, provide the following details:

Network Monitoring Configuration

Alarm interface is down

Select this checkbox to toggle alarm/destroy.

Enable sudo for data collection (For Linux only)

Host Name

Specify the hostname.

Use Sudo (For Linux only)

Specify the options to use sudo utility.

Note

Currently sudo utility can be used only for Percentage-Bandwidth-Utilization-NETBandwidthUtil parameter.

Sudo utility with password is not supported in this release of BMC PATROL Unix and Linux.

Add to List

To add the configured network operation to the list of Enable sudo for data collection (For Linux only), click the button.

Modify Selection

To modify the configured network operation to the list of Enable sudo for data collection (For Linux only), click the button.

Remove from List

To remove the configured network operation to the list of Enable sudo for data collection (For Linux only), click the button.

Add

Click this option to add this monitoring configuration. This information is displayed on the Monitor Configuration page.

After you click this option, you can continue to add more objects for monitoring.

Reset

Click this option to clear off your configuration details and revert to default settings.

Close

Click this option to exit without saving any changes.
