Move this page outside of your home branch.

Guidelines

Announcement Support for this product will end on November 3, 2025. We recommend that you use PATROL for Linux, PATROL for AIX, or PATROL for Solaris to monitor operating systems.

Blackout Instance Selection dialog box


This dialog box displays after you designate a full path and file name for a blackout script in the Blackout-Script-File-Name-dialog-box. You can use this dialog box to select the application classes and instances that will be added to a blackout script.

Description

Application List group box

displays a list of application classes and instances from which you can select for the blackout script

Select All Instances option button

click this option button to suspend monitoring for all application classes and instances listed for the computer
Use this option if you want to suspend monitoring for an entire computer.

Select All Instances in the Highlighted Classes option button

click this option button to suspend monitoring for all the instances within the application classes that you select

Select Only the Highlighted Instances option button

click this option button to suspend monitoring for selected instances within an application class
If you click this option button, you must use the following procedure to indicate which application instances should be blacked out:

  1. Highlight the application classes you want to choose.
  2. Click Select.
  3. Highlight the instances you want to suspend from monitoring.
  4. Click Done when you have selected all the application instances for which you want to suspend monitoring.

Clear All Selections option button

click this option button to clear all application instances that you have previously selected for blackout

Selected Instances

displays the list of application classes and instances that have been selected for the blackout script

Select

click this button to execute the blackout instance selection action that you have selected via the option buttons

Done

saves the changes that you made in the dialog box and displays the Add-New-Blackout-Script-dialog-box
