CPU Idle (CpuIdle)
Monitors the percentage of time the ASE was idle during the previous polling cycle.
PATROL calculates CpuIdle from the change in @@idle that has occurred between polls of the parameter. @@idle is a global variable that the ASE increments when the ASE detects that a process (or thread) is not running. The value is not entirely accurate since the ASE only checks for running threads every @@timeticks (in microseconds), causing the incrementing of @@idle to be somewhat sporadic. For example, on a Sun4 machine, @@timeticks is typically 100,000; so checks are made every 1/10 of a second.
