Oracle VM Manager monitoring

PATROL for Solaris enables you to monitor the Oracle Virtual Machine Manager (OVMM). It collects performance statistics of the Repositories, Oracle VM Servers, and VMs. You can create filters to include or exclude Oracle VM Servers, VMs, and Templates from monitoring. Local and remote monitoring of the Solaris operating system

PATROL for Solaris lets you monitor your Solaris operating system locally or remotely. It monitors the availability and performance of your servers, that includes the following objects:

Support for Solaris remote monitoring using Microsoft Windows or Red Hat Enterprise Linux PATROL Agent

PATROL for Solaris supports remote monitoring of Solaris OS using a Microsoft Windows or a Red Hat Enterprise Linux PATROL Agent. Enable or disable monitoring

You can enable or disable monitoring of CPU, Memory, Kernel, NFS, Network, Users, Swap, Virtualization, Services, Processes, File systems, Zpool, and Disk to streamline your configuration. For information about how to configure your Solaris OS for local or remote monitoring, see:

Ability to monitor multiple remote hosts

PATROL for Solaris provides you the flexibility to monitor varying number of hosts depending upon your requirement.

  • If you want to monitor a small number of hosts, you can select the Host name option and enter a comma-separated list of host names and IP addresses. 
  • If you want to monitor a large group of hosts, you can select the File path option and enter the absolute path to the file that includes the list of host names and IP addresses.

Single TrueSight UI for configuring remote hosts and monitor types

PATROL for Solaris provides a single interface to configure the remote hosts and monitor types. By default, all the monitor types are enabled. Based on your requirement, you can enable or disable the same.

Simplified local monitoring

PATROL for Solaris enables you to locally monitor the Solaris operating system using minimum configuration. By default, all the monitor types are enabled. Based on your requirement, you can enable or disable the same.

Additional features

  • Configurable SSH port. By default, the port number is set to 22.
  • In remote host configuration, the KM provides the ability to connect to the remote host using the PATROL Agent default account credentials. The value of the User Name field is set to $USERNAME to support this feature.
  • Detailed annotation messages with probable causes and corrective actions
