2.0.00.01: Patch for PATROL for Scripting


The PATROL for Scripting 2.0.00.01 patch corrects issues reported in earlier versions of PATROL for Scripting 2.0.00. This topic contains information about fixes in this patch and provides instructions for downloading and installing the patch.

To download the installation files

Select and download the installation files for your platform; see the following table. Use your BMC Support credentials to access the EPD website. You might also be prompted to complete the Export Compliance Form.

Installing the patch

Before you begin

You must install the Patch on the following computers:

  • Hosts running the PATROL Agent
  • Hosts with the PATROL Console (if this console is required)
  • Systems with the TrueSight Operations Management Presentation Server KM repository

Before you install the Patch, complete the following steps:

  1. Stop the PATROL Agent.
  2. Back up the PATROL_CACHE directory.
  3. Delete all of the PATROL for Scripting files from the PATROL_CACHE directory.
  4. Back up the PATROL_HOME/lib/knowledge and PATROL_HOME/lib/psl directories.

To install the PATROL for Scripting KM 2.0.00.01 Patch, if TrueSight Operations Management KM push is not used, and the PATROL console is in use:

  1. Extract the installation utility:
    • For Windows, double-click ins_WINDOWS_11000.zip.
    • For Linux, run the following command
      tar -xvf ins_ALL_11000.tar
      The contents of the files are extracted into the bmc_products sub-directory.
  2. Extract the Patch files:
    • For Windows, double-click  tro_LINUX-WINDOWS_200001.zip
    • For Linux, run the following command
      tar -xvf tro_LINUX-WINDOWS_200001.tar
      The contents of the files are extracted into the bmc_products sub-directory. 
  3. From the bmc_products directory, run the installation utility as appropriate for your operating system:
    • For Windows, double-click setup.exe.
    • For Linux, run setup.sh
  4. Follow the on-screen instructions until the Select Products and Components to Install page is displayed. 
  5. On the Select Products and Components to Install page, select PATROL for Scripting Patch (2.0.00.01)
  6. Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the installation.

    After you complete the installation steps, you can delete the temporary directory and its contents.
