SAP PI components discovered but cannot be accessed
After you configure the SAP PI connection (as described in Configuring the monitoring of an SAP PI system), all SAP PI components are automatically discovered. In certain cases, you might need to override connection details for SAP PI components to enable BMC PATROL for SAP Solution Manager to access them and retrieve availability data.
For example, you might need to override the following settings:
- Specify an alternative host for SAP PI components if the true host is located behind a firewall.
- Specify the port to which the pipelines of the Integration Server listen to, if this port differs from the port of the Integration Server itself.
To override SAP PI connection details
- Through the pconfig utility, locate the /SSM/SYSTEMS/systemLabel/SID/PIMonitoring/ folder.
- Within the PIMonitoringfolder, create a new folder with the name of the relevant host whose details you want to override. In this new subfolder, define any of the following pconfig variables with alternative values:
- AltHost --alternative host name of IP address
- AltPort --alternative port number
- AltProtocol --alternative protocol (either HTTPS or HTTPS)
- AltUser --alternative user name for the connection
- AltPass --password for the specified user
- If you want to override connection details for the pipelines of the SAP PI Integration Server, create a next-level subfolder named Pipeline, that is, /SSM/SYSTEMS/systemLabel/SID/PIMonitoring/componentName/Pipeline. In this new subfolder, define any of the pconfig variables listed in the previous step.
- Restart the PATROL Agent.
Tip: For faster searching, add an asterisk to the end of your partial query. Example: cert*
