Preparing for installation

BMC recommends that you first install BMC PATROL for SAP Solution Manager on a limited number of development or test machines. After this installation, configure and test the product before installing it onto production machines.

Before you install, you must

  • Check for product patches or fixes.
  • Determine how to install products.
  • Ensure you are using the appropriate version of the installation utility. (For more information, see Installation prerequisites.)
  • Understand where to install the PATROL Agent and KMs. (For more information, see Installation prerequisites.)
  • Understand PATROL security options. (For more information, see Installation prerequisites.)

 

Tip: For faster searching, add an asterisk to the end of your partial query. Example: cert*
