Configuring the monitoring of SAP Solution Manager


With SAP Solution Manager as the selected monitor type, the Add Monitor Types dialog box enables you to configure details for connecting to the SAP Solution Manager system. For more information, see Configuring-monitoring-settings.

Description

Label  Name

Enter a name for the SAP Solution Manager system.

ABAP Configuration Attributes

MS Host

Enter a valid Message Server Host name or IP for the SAP Solution Manager.

R/3 MS RFC Port

Enter the R/3 Message Server RFC port number of the SAP Solution Manager system.
The Message server RFC port number is a 4 digit number.

Note that the combination of the MS Host and the R/3 MS RFC Port values must be unique per system.

User

Enter the name of a user with the following authorizations:

  • S_RFC
  • S_RZL_ADM
  • S_XMI_PROD
  • S_TABU_DIS
  • S_ADMI_FCD
  • S_TABU_RFC

Password

Enter a valid password for the specified user.

SAP Client

Enter the SAP Solution Manager system working client. (The SAP Client is a 3 digit number. The default is 000).

Language

Enter the Language to use to log on to the SAP Solution Manager system. (The default is EN).

Group

Enter the name of the logon group used by the SAP Logon Load Balancing function.

Destination

Enter the path to the RFC INI file, which stores optional configuration data. This data overrides configuration information that has been defined for this system.

SAP System Type

Choose one of the following system types:

  • SAP Solution Manager
  • SAP Satellite System

J2EE Configuration Attributes

Note

If you are adding J2EE stack to an existing SAP ABAP system, select the Restart Java collector checkbox in the KM admin details.

J2EE MS SID

Enter a name for the SAP Solution Manager instance.

J2EE MS Host

Enter the Message Server host of the SAP J2EE system central services (SCS) in located."ms/http_port"

J2EE MS Port

Enter the Message Server HTTP port number of the SAP J2EE system (4 digits) as maintain the systems profile 

SAP OS User

Enter the name of a SAP Operating user. For example: SAPSIDadm

SAP OS Password

Enter a valid password for the specified user.

SAP J2EE Administrator User

Enter the name of the users authorized to log on to the SAP J2EE system as administrator. For example: j2ee_admin, administrator

SAP J2EE Administrator Password

Enter a password for the SAP J2EE user.

J2EE Version

Enter the version numbers of the monitored SAP Systems.

For example: 640, 700, 710, 720, 730

SAP Java Client library path

Enter the path to the J2EE folder where the SAP jar files reside.

For example:
Windows:
C:\Program Files\BMC Software\Patrol3\SSMKM\Jars\<directory-name>

Unix\LINUX:
/opt/bmc/Patrol3/SSMKM/Jars/<directory-name>

Template Name

Enter name of the template which contains the list of objects and parameters selected for monitoring.

If this field is left blank, the default template will be used.

PI Configuration Attributes

SAP SID

Enter a name for the SAP Solution Manager instance.

SLD Host

Enter the name or IP address of the computer that hosts the System Landscape Directory (SLD). 

SLD Port

Enter the port number to connect to the SLD. 

SLD Protocol

Enter the protocol used to connect to the SLD. You can enter one of the following : 

  • HTTP
  • HTTPS

PI Components Protocol

Enter the protocol used to connect to the PI components.  You can enter one of the following:

  • HTTP
  • HTTPS

Admin User

Enter the name of the user with administration privileges for logging on to the SLD. For example: PISUSER

Admin Password

Enter the password for the specified user.

RWB User

Enter the name of the user that is used to connect to the Runtime Workbench (RWB). For example: PIRWBUSER

RWB Password

Enter the password for the specified RWB user.

Business Systems User

Enter the name of the user that is used to connect to the SAP PI Business Systems. For example: PIAPPUSER

Business Systems Password

Enter the password for the specified Business Systems user. 

KM admin

Map Instance to device

Select this option to map the configured instance to the device.

Restart Java Collector

Select this option to restart the Java collector for the selected configuration.

Set Java Collector Logger Level

Select this option to set Java collector logger level. Set this option to all configurations for more detailed trace files.

Add to List

Click this button to add the host to the list of monitor hosts.

Modify Selection

Click this button to save the changes made to the host already added.

Remove from List

Click this button to remove the selected host from monitoring.

After adding all relevant hosts, click the Close button. Then click the Save button in the Add Policy dialog box.
