SAP PI is an integration broker that mediates between entities with varying requirements for connectivity, format, and protocols. To enable the monitoring of the SAP PI component in BMC PATROL for SAP Solution Manager, you must configure a connection to the System Landscape Directory (SLD) of the relevant SAP PI system.
To configure SAP PI monitoring
- From the PATROL Console work area, right-click an existing SAP System (SSM_SID_CONT).
- Select KM Commands > PI Monitoring > Configure.
In the Configure PI Monitoring dialog box, enter the following information:
SAP PI configuration fields- If you want to test the connection to the SLD, select the Perform SLD Connection Test check box.
- Click Apply.
A new SAP PI container (SSM_PI_CONT) is added under the SAP system (SAP_SID_CONT) branch, along with branches for all discovered SAP PI components.
To stop monitoring an SAP PI system
- From the PATROL Console work area, right-click an existing SAP System (SSM_SID_CONT).
- Select KM Commands > PI Monitoring > Remove.
- In the confirmation message, click Yes.
All SAP PI monitoring branches are removed under the specific SID.
