Generating reports


The following sections describe the reports that you can generate in BMC PATROL for SAP Solution Manager:

Generating a Dynamic KMs report

The Dynamic KMs report lists the following types of dynamic objects in BMC PATROL for SAP Solutions Manager and summarizes their numbers:

  • Dynamic KMs created
  • Currently monitored CCMS parameters (performance and non-performance)

This report can help you adjust the amount of Java process memory that you need for monitoring by BMC PATROL for SAP Solution Manager. 

You can generate this report at various levels, depending on the scope of data that you want to include in the report.

To generate a Dynamic KMs report

  1. From the PATROL Console work area, right-click one of the following nodes, depending on the scope of data that you want to include in the report:

    Node

    Level

    SAP Solution Manager system (SSM_SOLMAN)

    All SAP systems (SIDs) that are defined in a SAP Solution Manager system

    SAP system (SSM_SID_CONT)

    Specific SAP system (SID) and all CCMS Contexts under it

    CCMS Context (SSM_CONTEXT_CONT)

    Specific CCMS Context and all CCMS parameters under it

    CCMS Context Hierarchy (SSM_PARAM_CONT)

    Specific CCMS node in the hierarchy that leads to CCMS parameters

  2. Select KM Commands > Reports > Dynamic KMs Report.
  3. In the Report Options dialog box, select the report output option--either in the System Output Window or in a text file.
    If you want the output as a text file, you can specify a path and file name to override the suggested default path and file name.
  4. Click OK.

Generating a Duplicate Systems report

The Duplicate Systems report displays a matrix of all defined connections to SAP Solutions Manager systems or SAP satellite systems, and the SAP systems (SIDs) associated with each one and monitored by BMC PATROL for SAP Solutions Manager. This report can help you decide on filters for eliminating redundancy and unnecessary overhead in the monitoring of SAP systems by BMC PATROL for SAP Solutions.

To generate a Duplicate Systems report

  1. From the PATROL Console work area, right-click an existing SAP Solution Manager (SSM_SOLMAN) or SAP System (SSM_SID_CONT).
  2. Select KM Commands > Reports > Dynamic KMs Report.
  3. In the Report Options dialog box, select the report output option--either in the System Output Window or in a text file.
    If you want the output as a text file, you can specify a path and file name to override the suggested default path and file name.
  4. Click OK.
