Configuring events for non-performance CCMS parameters

You can configure the generation of events for non-performance CCMS parameters based on specific textual strings detected (or not detected) in the contents of the message within the CCMS parameter. The resulting events are displayed in the PATROL Event Manager.

To configure events for non-performance CCMS parameters

  1. From the PATROL Console work area, right-click a discovered CCMS Non-performance Parameter (SSM_DPARAM _textType_prm ).
  2. Select KM Commands > Alert Event Setup.
  3. In the Alert Configuration dialog box, manage the list of conditions that control the generation of an event by performing any of the following actions:
    • To add a new event condition, select Add and then click Accept.
    • To edit an existing condition, select the condition, select Edit, and then click Accept.
    • To delete a condition, select the condition, select Delete, and then click Accept.
  4. If adding or editing an event condition, in the Add/Edit Event Condition dialog box, set the following properties of the event condition, and then click Accept to return to the Alert Configuration dialog box.
    • For the Alert Type, select either Alarm or Warning.
    • Select the comparison operation to perform on the message within the CCMS parameter based on the string specified in the next field. You can choose from the following options: equals, does not equal, contains, does not contain, or regex (a regular expression).
    • In the Condition Text field, specify a string of text for comparison with the message within the CCMS parameter.
  5. If you do not want repeated events generated for consecutive occurrences of the same CCMS parameter that contain the same message, select the Consistent check box in the Alert Configuration dialog box.
  6. If you want to apply your configuration to all monitored SAP systems where the CCMS parameter is detected under the same hierarchy of CCMS Contexts, select the Apply to All Instances check box.
  7. When you have finished configuring event settings, select Done and click Accept.
