Configuring Java home directory through PATROL Console

By default, BMC PATROL for Red Hat Enterprise Virtualization uses Java Runtime Environment (JRE) that is installed with the PATROL Agent. However, you can configure BMC PATROL for Red Hat Enterprise Virtualization to use your own JRE that is installed in a different location.

To configure BMC PATROL for Red Hat Enterprise Virtualization to use a different Java home directory

  1. Navigate to the RHEV Managers node under the REV_Manager_Container application class.
  2. Access the RHEV Managers application class menu.
  3. Select Configure JAVA_HOME from the menu.
    The Configure-JAVA_HOME-dialog-box appears.
  4. In the Specify JAVA_HOME field, enter the complete path to the Java home directory.
For example, if your Java executable exists in the /usr/java/jdk1.7.0_71/jre/bin/java path, specify /usr/java/jdk1.7.0_71/jre as the value of this field.
  5. Click Apply to save the configuration.
  6. Restart the PATROL Agent to apply the configuration.
