PATROL for PostgreSQL provides a detailed view of the database activity over time so that you can detect problems, optimize systems, analyze trends, plan capacity, and manage multiple hosts simultaneously.

Administrator

Administrators are responsible for installing, configuring, and maintaining the PATROL for PostgreSQL KM implementation.

Some of the tasks executed by an Administrator are:

  • Install and upgrade the product
  • Create users or configure the KM, create and assign roles and access groups to users
  • Ensure that the PATROL for PostgreSQL environment remains healthy over time, and uses the self-monitoring capabilities provided by the KM

End User

End Users of PATROL for PostgreSQL can represent a variety of different roles, such as IT Operations user, Technology Specialist, and Solution Administrator.

They usually do not execute tasks on PATROL for PostgreSQL, but rather access and consume results of the KM, such as PATROL for PostgreSQL reports or graphs.

Support

Support of the PATROL for PostgreSQL KM are (internal or external) resources that can seek troubleshooting information about monitoring the KM.
