Setting license type

Monitoring of concurrent user licenses, as presented by the NumUsedLicenses parameter is dependent upon the license type. The Name license type uses the current number of logon application sessions as the license number, while the Session license type uses the current number of DB sessions as the license number.

PATROL monitors the Oracle Named User licensing type. A named user is an individual who is authorized to use Oracle Applications on a specified computer, with no set user session limits.

  1. From the APP_USER application menu, select Setup > License Type.
The License Type dialog box opens.
  2. Select the license type, either Name or Session.
