Excluding long-pending and long-running requests

You can exclude long-pending and long-running concurrent requests from monitoring by adding them to the Long-Pending or Long-Running Exclusion list. When a concurrent request that is included in the list enters a warning or error state, BMC PATROL for Oracle e-Business Suite will ignore the error or warning status and the responsible parameter (NumErrCompletedReq or NumWarnCompletedReq) will not flash an alarm for that concurrent request. The following procedures describe how to add, remove, and view long-running and long-pending requests on the exclusion list:

To add long-pending or long-running requests to the concurrent request exclusion list

  1. Follow the applicationID (OA_SYSTEM) > CONC_REQUEST (OA_REQUEST) pathway.
  2. From the CONC_REQUEST (OA_REQUEST) menu, select the Setup > Request/Program Settings command.
The Request/Program Settings dialog box appears.
  3. Under List to set up, select the type of requests you want to exclude — either Long Pending Exclusion or Long Running Exclusion.
  4. Under Action to take, select Add.
  5. Click Accept.
The List of Initial Characters dialog box appears.
  6. Select the first character of the concurrent request name you want to add to the list and click Accept; then click Exit.
The Exclusion of Long Pending Requests dialog box or the Exclusion of Long Running Requests dialog box (depending on your selection in Step 3) appears, listing all requests starting with the selected letter.
  7. Select one or more concurrent requests you want to add to the exclusion list and click Accept.
A message at the bottom of the dialog box notifies you that the selected requests were added to the exclusion list. The selected requests will not be monitored.
  8. Click Exit to return to the Request/Program Settings dialog box.

To delete long-pending or long-running requests from the concurrent request exclusion list

  5. Click Accept.
The Delete Concurrent Requests dialog box appears, listing all concurrent requests included in the exclusion list.
  6. Select the concurrent request(s) you want to remove from the list and click Accept.
A message at the bottom of the dialog box summarizes your selection.
