Identifying the number of active target processes

Use the following procedures to identify the active target processes of the concurrent managers. A target process, or queue, is used to process requests. A concurrent manager can have several target processes. The number of target processes defines the number of operating system processes that a concurrent manager can devote to reading requests. The number of target processes is defined for a certain period of time---a work shift or other time definition. For each target process, a concurrent manager can start one concurrent request.

Refer to the Oracle Applications Administration Reference Manual for more information about work shift customization.

This topic contains the following information:

To identify the active concurrent managers

  1. Follow the applicationID (OA_SYSTEM) > CONC_MGR (OA_CONM) > CONMGR_nodeName (OA_CONM_HOST) > concurrent_manager_name (OA_MGR) pathway.
  2. From the concurrent_manager_name (OA_MGR) menu, select the System Report > Active Concurrent Managers command.
The Active Concurrent Managers report appears, listing all active concurrent managers and their Oracle and system process IDs.

To identify the number of active target processes for a specific concurrent manager

  1. Follow the applicationID (OA_SYSTEM) > CONC_MGR (OA_CONM) > CONMGR_nodeName (OA_CONM_HOST) > concurrent_manager_name (OA_MGR) pathway.
  2. From the concurrent_manager_name (OA_MGR) menu (see OA_MGR InfoBox), select the InfoBox.
The Number of Target Processes field shows the number of active target processes for the selected concurrent manager.
You can compare this number to the total number of active target processes (No. Act Conc Mgr Target Procs) displayed in the OA_CONM InfoBox.
