System requirements
Before configuring BMC PATROL for Oracle e-Business Suite, make sure that you have all the necessary information and have fulfilled all the necessary requirements. The following information helps you prepare for configuration procedures of BMC PATROL for Oracle e-Business Suite, and is divided into the following categories:
Account requirements
Verify the following account information:
- Root operating system account (ask your OS system administrator)
- Operating system account for Oracle DBA
- Operating system account for Oracle Applications owner (applmgr entity)
- Operating system account(s) for the Oracle Applications server (usually applmgr entity)
- Oracle database account for the Oracle Applications user (the default is apps)
- Operating system PATROL account and port number on the remote Oracle Application middle-tier

Database server requirements
Prepare the following information before database configuration. The information can be obtained from the Oracle DBA, or can be found within the logon profile and environment variables of the Oracle DBA.Database server requirements

Prepare the following information before application system configuration. Most of the information can be obtained from the Oracle DBA and OA system administrator, or can be found in the logon profile and environment variables of the OA owner.

Middle-tier server requirements
Prepare the following information before middle-tier server configuration. Most of the information can be obtained from the Oracle Applications system administrator, or can be found in the logon profile and environment variables of Oracle Applications accounts.

Probe requirements
- Check that the BMC PATROL for Oracle e-Business Suite Probe has been loaded on the Probe Agent host.
- Check that the ApacheJServ is working with the http://host:port/servlet/lsItWorking URL.
- Prepare the following information before Probe configuration. The Oracle DBA and the OA system administrator will be the source for most of the information.

- Check the OA Profile:Sign-On:Audit and make sure that the site value is either RESPONSIBILITY or FORMS (depending on the level of data that you want obtained from the Oracle database about user activities and processes).
